You know you’re being led when – Your development and growth are encouraged – Your opinion, input, and ideas are valued – Your leader is a role model, who demonstrates ideal behaviours and qualities – Your leader trusts your decisions, work, and outcomes – Your colleagues are all focused on the same vision, outcomes, and goals – You feel inspired to meet goals – You have a feeling of being mentored and developed – You’re motivated – You’re open to change, and you want to be part of it – You feel empowered – You do what you’re supposed to do because you want to do it – You’re ideas are respected – You feel energized and committed – Your input is valued – You can actually see the vision – You are permitted to build on ideas cooperatively – You don’t steal thunder (and your thunder is not stolen either) – You are inspired – You are part of a group goal that goes beyond personal agendas – Your boss is knowledgeable, yet allows you to be creative – You are part of a process that is as important as outcomes
